The right pressure measuring cell for every application

VEGA develops all core technologies itself and manufactures the main components of the measuring instruments in-house. This also applies to the ceramic-capacitive CERTEC® and the metallic METEC® measuring cells. They are produced under "Clean Room Class 100" conditions to ensure that they deliver unrivalled precision. Each one is calibrated on DKD-certified test benches – the calibration certificate is an integral part of the scope of delivery.

Measurement of process pressure

Process pressure transmitters monitor the relative or absolute pressure that exists in pipelines or closed containers in production systems. They detect liquids, gases and vapours – and also work reliably in applications with condensate formation or rapid temperature changes.

Choosing the right pressure sensor

Level measurement with pressure sensors

In this type of pressure measurement, the sensor’s measuring cell detects even the smallest changes in hydrostatic pressure, which increases or decreases depending on the level of the liquid. With this operating principle, you can select from ceramic-capacitive or metallic measuring cells, enabling the liquid pressure and level in tanks, pipelines, basins, or even lakes, to be reliably measured.

  • An additional measurement of the product temperature, is also possible
  • Hydrostatic pressure measurement is unaffected by foaming or internal vessel installations
  • Perfect adaptation to your process through selection of suitable measuring cells process connections and housing materials

Pressure sensors for hydrostatic level measurement

The compact versions are installed directly on the vessel. This can be done from below or from the side. The submersible pressure transmitters can be suspended above the well or channel, or mounted through a process fitting on the vessel.

Measurement of differential pressure

Differential pressure measurement can be used to measure pressure, level, interface, density as well as the flow of liquids, suspensions, gases or vapours. VEGA offers conventional and electronic differential pressure. High static pressures and large pressure differences are the domain of conventional differential pressure transmitters. Electronic differential pressure systems offer the advantage a choice of sensor configurations, metallic and ceramic measuring cells and very simple installation. Another advantage: The ambient temperature does not influence the measured value.
