Radar is the better ultrasonic
80 GHz radar technology for reliable liquid level measurement in all industries, including water and wastewater.
Radar for the price of ultrasonic
This radar level product series is especially suitable for more price-sensitive applications, like those found in the water and wastewater industry. These VEGAPULS sensors can be used in applications with either liquids or bulk solids. VEGA recently received the FM and CSA Intrinsically Safe Approvals for the VEGAPULS C21, C22, C23, 21, and 31 radar sensors.
The following VEGA instruments are now certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61: VEGAPULS C 21, VEGAPULS C 22, and VEGAPULS C 23 in addition to other pressure sensors and point level switches. You can find all the products with drinking water certifications here.

To the applicationAdvantages of radar level sensors compared to ultrasonic
Using radar technology to monitor water level in a variety of applications
When comparing radar vs. ultrasonic level sensors, radar sensors measure unaffected by temperature fluctuations, high pressures and environmental contaminations. 80 GHz radar technology is made for reliable liquid level measurement in all industries from water and wastewater to pharmaceutical.
Process and ambient influences
Radar sensors are unaffected by temperature, pressure or vacuum and provide correct readings under all environmental conditions.
