Diffusion, high pressures
Application
Compressors are of great importance in the hydrogen supply chain. By compressing the hydrogen molecules, a higher energy density of the extremely light gas can be achieved. For that reason, the gas is compressed to a pressure of several hundred bar for storage – typically 350 and 700 bar. This is very important for the refuelling process at hydrogen filling stations, for example. To ensure efficient and safe operation, the pressure must be monitored at various points in hydrogen compressors.
